Numerous vehicles were damaged in White Bear Lake Wednesday night after reports of multiple shots fired from a pellet or BB gun.

The White Bear Lake Police Department said on Facebook that incidents were reported "in multiple areas of the city" between 9 p.m. and midnight Wednesday.

A number of vehicles are said to have been struck with projectiles believed to be from a pellet/bb gun, and in one instance a passenger window of one vehicle was shattered – while people were inside.

Nobody was injured in the shootings. Police say a large, dark pickup truck with a diesel engine was seen leaving the area shortly after one of the shots was fired.

KARE 11 reports that as many as 16 vehicles were damaged.

The station also spoke to Rick Nelson – whose car was shot while he, his wife and sister were inside it as they drove around the neighborhood looking at Christmas lights. He described hearing a loud bang and looked back to see the shattered glass at the rear passenger window.

Anyone with information is asked to call the White Bear Lake Police Department at 651-429-8511.
