The U.S. Army had to be called in.

Someone cleaning out their shed found a German artillery shell, so the U.S. Army had to respond.

The incident happened Thursday around 9:50 a.m. in Bloomer, Wisconsin, according to the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office. They were cleaning out the shed on their property when they found something suspicious.

The bomb squad responded, but because of the type of object and how old it was, the U.S. Army had to be called in.

Officials determined it was a 75mm German mountain artillery shell. It was removed and properly disposed of. The sheriff's office says this was an isolated incident and there's no longer a danger or threat to people in the area.
