Person of interest in Brooklyn Park shooting arrested in NC

A multi-state law enforcement hunt for a person of interest in a Brooklyn Park homicide Sunday has been arrested in Cornelius, N.C., the Charlotte Observer reports.

U.S. Department of Justice agents took Tia Paul Lor into custody without incident, federal officials say, the newspaper reports.

U.S. marshals say Lor was also wanted for failure to register as a sex offender.

St. Paul resident Chue Yeng Xiong, 24, died of a gunshot wound to the head at a party at a Brooklyn Park home at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, the Hennepin County medical examiner's office said Wednesday, the Pioneer Press reported. Investigators said five others had been arrested in connection with the slaying, the newspaper reported.
