If you and your pets are stir-crazy and looking for indoor entertainment, the Twin Cities Pet Expo is underway at the Minneapolis Convention Center this weekend.
WCCO reports that this is the first year pets are invited. Their admission is included with yours. They must be pre-registered, though, and you'll need to bring their rabies tags.
Sure it will be full of vendors selling irresistible chew toys. But the Minnesota Companion Rabbit Society will also be represented, and you never know what they have up their sleeves. Something about a leporine obstacle course, reportedly.
“Rabbits are easy, they learn quickly. They learn words quickly, they work on body language commands so they find it easy to do,” said Jody Baum, spokesperson for the Pet Expo.
The Expo website (be warned, if you click on it, there's a little bark that sounds like a hiccup) lists a range of activities from dog dock jumping to a bird education show, in which avians will no doubt study the theory of flight.
Sadly, activities at the Minnesota Disc Dog Stage have been cancelled due to inclement weather.
The Expo goes through 6 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $9 for adults; children 3-12, $5.
