Twin Cities Film Fest under way; 60 films to play in 9-day event

The feature film directorial debuts of "The Sopranos" creator David Chase and Oscar-winning film icon Dustin Hoffman are among the films screening at the Twin Cities Film Fest, which begins Friday and runs through Oct. 20. The 60-film event also includes the world premieres of films shot in Minnesota, and attendance by several filmmakers and actors.

Dayton goes birdless in pheasant opener

The First Annual Governor’s Pheasant Opener in Montevideo went off without incident--at least for Gov. Mark Dayton. Other hunters in Dayton's party had better luck Saturday. GOP House Speaker Kurt Zellers and local resident Paul Johannes each bagged a bird, while Dayton went home empty-handed.
