Hundreds of dogs competed for "Best in Show" at the Land O’Lakes Kennel Club's annual dog show over the weekend.

More than 2,000 dogs in 155 different breeds competed for awards from the American Kennel Club at the St. Paul RiverCentre over the weekend, a news release said.

They competed in obedience and rally competitions, as well as "Partners in Performance" demonstrations that featured owners of search and rescue dogs, police dogs and assist dogs who gave demonstrations on what makes their pooches unique.

Two dogs were named Best in Show this weekend – dog shows in this area are separate shows for each day, so dogs compete on Saturday and winners receive their awards, and then they do it all over again on Sunday, Jan Croft, with the Land O'Lakes Kennel Club, told BringMeTheNews Monday.

An English Springer Spaniel – Telltale American Ride – won Best in Show Saturday. Runner-up was an Old English Sheepdog, Lambluv Sultry Sensation.

On Sunday, Best in Show was an Irish Setter named Tramore Notorious, and the runner-up was a French Bulldog, whose name is Jcrv-Klasse Warrior Raising the Banner.
