A 58-year-old man died Sunday morning when his plane crashed shortly after take-off in Rush City, according to a statement from the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office.
The man was the pilot and only person aboard the small ultra-light airplane. He was found dead at the scene. The man's name has not yet been released.
The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office and the Federal Aviation Administration are assisting in the ongoing investigation.
Rush City is about 60 miles north of the Twin Cities.
