Play time! Minnesota toy store LARK Toys named one of best in the world

If you're searching for the best toy store on the planet, many suggest the hustle and bustle of New York's Times Square, or one of the historic shops in London.

Or, you could take a trip to a town of not-even-500 people in the Mississippi River Valley.

LARK Toys in Kellogg, Minnesota was named one of the 10 best toy stores in the entire world by USA Today.

At more than 20-000 square feet, LARK Toys is one of the largest family-owned toy shops in the United States, according to its website. It was founded in 1983 by Sarah and Donn Kreofsky; who then sold it to a new family in 2008 (Kathy and Ron Gray, and Miranda and Scott Gray-Burlingame).

USA Today says LARK Toys "boasts a hand-carved basswood carousel, an antique collection with toys from years past, an 18-hole mini golf course and a candy store."

Last year it was named the best toy store in the state by WCCO.

USA Today puts LARK on a list with Hamleys on Regent Street in London, FAO Schwartz on Fifth Avenue in New York, the Toys R Us in Times Square, and Once Upon a Toy at Orlando's Disney World resort.

Kathy Gray told KTTC they are "honored and humbled" to make the list.
