Pohlads acquire four luxury car dealerships in Twin Cities

Twin Cities Automotive, part of Pohlad Cos., has signed a purchase agreement to buy Carousel Audi and Carousel Porsche in Golden Valley, as well as Maplewood Audi and Maplewood Imports in Maplewood, the Business Journal reports.

Twin Cities Automotive, part of Pohlad Cos., has signed a purchase agreement to buy Carousel Audi and Carousel Porsche in Golden Valley, as well as Maplewood Audi and Maplewood Imports in Maplewood, the Business Journal reports.

Pohlad Cos., the owner of the Minnesota Twins, also owns BMW of Minnetonka, Coon Rapids Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, Inver Grove Hyundai, St. Cloud Hyundai, and North Branch Chevrolet.

Twin Cities construction activity leaps in September

There was a big jump in construction activity in the Twin Cities in September, the Business Journal reports, citing figures published by McGraw-Hill Construction. Nonresidential construction in the metro in September totaled $200 million, compared to just $90 million during the same month in 2011. Residential construction totaled $313 million, well above the $123 million in September 2011.

Four Twin Cities finalists named for the James Beard Awards

Among the finalists, Lenny Russo of Heartland Restaurant in St. Paul is up for best Midwest chef. Andrew Zimmerman, Lynne Rossetto Kasper and Sally Swift are also finalists from the Twin Cities. Winners of the James Beard Foundation Restaurant and Chef Awards will be announced May 4.
