Polaris, Bobcat partner to offer utility vehicles

Polaris Industries and Bobcat Co. have teamed up to develop a new line of commercial utility vehicles called Brutus, Twin Cities Business reports. Front-end attachments include a snow blade, a pallet fork, a materials bucket, an angle broom, a finishing mower and a snow blower.

“Launching Brutus is a milestone moment for Polaris and an integral step in our continued commitment to grow and strengthen the company through adjacencies,” Polaris President and Chief Operating Officer Bennett Morgan said in a news release. “At its core, Polaris is an innovation company, and Brutus showcases that spirit of innovation for a market that we’re excited to service in the years to come.”

The Medina, Minn.-based recreational vehicles maker and the West Fargo, N.D.-based construction equipment manufacturer first announced their alliance in 2009.

The Business Journal says Polaris will also begin offering a new type of plastic tire early next year for its off-road vehicles.

Earlier this week, Polaris unveiled its 2014 snowmobile lineup at the Phoenix Convention Center.
