The Minneapolis Police Department says a crash in the city has sent three people to the hospital. One of the victims is in critical condition, officials say.

According to the department's Twitter posts, the incident happened at the intersection of East Lake Street and Park Avenue South.

Officials tell KSTP they believe one of the vehicles ran a red light, causing the crash.

The person in critical condition had been ejected from the vehicle, KARE 11 reports. One vehicle flipped upside down onto its roof.

At least two vehicles were involved.

Police say roads were shut down around 3:45 p.m. due to the crash, but traffic started flowing again about an hour later.
