Law enforcement agencies in the Twin Cities area are asking the public for help catching a robber with a British accent.

The FBI says an unknown suspect robbed the TCF Bank at 1444 West Lake Street in Minneapolis Wednesday.

The suspect went up to the teller, flashed a black pistol, demanded money then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, authorities say. He had a British accent, the FBI notes.

Investigators describe him as a white male between the ages of 45 and 50, 5 foot 10 inches tall and weighing about 160 to 170 pounds.

He wore a red striped winter hat with a "puffy ball on the top," earflaps and yarn extensions, according to the FBI. He also wore a black "neck gator," a navy blue coat and blue jeans.

Authorities say the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous. They also ask anyone with any information to contact the FBI.

Authorities are offering a reward but haven't disclosed how much, WCCO says.

Police in St. Paul are also looking for a robber with a British accent.

According to the Pioneer Press, the first robbery happened Feb. 3 at a SuperAmerica on Snelling Avenue and Ford Parkway. Then two different SuperAmericas were robbed on Saturday. And Tuesday, a Holiday convenience store on University Avenue near Vandalia Street was robbed.

Steve Linders, a St. Paul Police spokesman, told the paper that the man pointed a gun at the workers in several cases and even told them to "keep calm."

Police are looking into whether or not the gas station robberies are connected to the TCF Bank robbery, the Pioneer Press reports.
