Missing New Brighton teen found safe

Family members say 16-year-old Will Ricci who had been reported missing since Friday was found safe Wednesday afternoon.

WCCO reports the teenager had been staying with a "former football family." He will be taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation, KSTP says.

A missing person alert was issued for the New Brighton boy on Christmas Eve when his family hadn't heard from him for almost a week.

Will's mother, Janet Rodriguez-Ricci, told KSTP she found her son's bedroom window wide open and he was nowhere to be found.

Ricci became worried because the teen was without his medication for an anxiety/panic disorder.
