Police looking for driver in hit-and-run boat crash

Investigators are looking for leads in the case of a hit-and-run boat crash on Big Cormorant Lake near Detroit Lakes. A speeding 18- to 2-foot vessel bashed into the boat of a family that had just set out on the water to watch fireworks on Wednesday. Some of them ended up in the water and the father, Terry Erickson, 39, was hospitalized with broken bones and had surgery Friday. His two children were treated for minor injuries. The other boat sped away without offering help.
