Police looking for suspects who shot a paraplegic man and stole his car

Police are looking for two suspects who shot a paraplegic man and then stole his specially equipped vehicle.

Minneapolis police say it happened Aug. 1 around 4:45 a.m. The victim was in his Ford Expedition parked outside his South Minneapolis home when two men walked up.

They opened his driver's side door and ordered him out of the truck. The victim, who can't walk, was unable to get out of the vehicle. That's when the suspects shot him twice, hitting him in the chest.

The victim fell out of his car and onto the street.

The suspects then took off in his vehicle, and left it in the middle of the ramp between southbound University Avenue and eastbound Interstate 694.

Now police are hoping someone remembers seeing someone get out of the dark green Ford Expedition (pictured above), with Minnesota plates 351 HTD, on the ramp.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Minneapolis Police Department at 612-673-2616 or the police department's tip line at 612-692-8477. To report a tip anonymously, text MPD and the information to 847411.
