Police: Man tried to video U of M student in bathroom

It happened in a restroom at Peik Hall.

University of Minnesota police are looking for a man who tried to video a student in the bathroom.

According to UMPD, the incident happened Wednesday at a restroom in Peik Hall, on Pillsbury Drive Southeast on the East Bank campus.

The suspect is a white man, aged around 40, of "bigger build" with blonde hair, and a scruffy beard.

He was wearing a baseball cap and a light green/beige jacket, and carrying a canvas-style messenger bag.

Police say it hasn't received any reports of similar incidents. Anyone with information should call 612-624-2677.

Peik Hall houses, among other services, the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.
