Police: Man turns himself in after fatally stabbing a young woman

Eden Prairie police say a man has turned himself in, taking responsibility for Saturday morning's fatal stabbing.

Police say the incident happened around 10:30 a.m. at the 17000 block of Park Circle in Eden Prairie.

When they arrived, officials say they found a 23-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds. She was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center and pronounced dead.

The suspect fled the scene, so officials initiated a metro-wide search, police say.

Then around 1 p.m., 30-year-old Yeveginy Savenok turned himself in to the St. Paul Police Department. He's being held pending charges.

Police tell KARE 11 that they believe the suspect and victim were married and had two young kids.

Police have not yet released the victim's name.

The incident is still under investigation.
