A St. Paul police officer was involved in a shooting Thursday afternoon.

It happened on the 2100 block of Minnehaha Avenue, according to the police department's Twitter account.

The Pioneer Press says a suspect was killed, and no officers were injured.

According to a press release posted to Twitter, police say a man in the bedroom of a residence fired at officers.

When police returned fire, the man was shot and pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Washington Post, it would be the sixth fatal police shooting in Minnesota so far in 2016.

It would be the second in St. Paul in recent weeks. Earlier this month, St. Paul officers shot and killed a man they said had shot a woman, then fled.
