Police release more details about missing teen, ask farmers and hunters for help

More information about the teenager who went missing in west-central Minnesota has been released by police.

The sheriff's offices in both Douglas and Pope counties have revealed that missing 18-year-old Laura Ann Schwendemann was last seen at a Holiday gas station, on 50th Ave. in Alexandria.

She was spotted just before 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday. She has not been seen since.

Police are asking for help from local hunters and farmers to keep an eye out for anything suspicious in the area.

The sheriff's offices said they have "specific interest" in the townships of Holmes City and Solem, in Douglas County, and Nora, Ben and Wade in Pope County.

The teenager is originally from Starbuck, Minnesota and was believed to have gone missing in the area around Kensington. According to her Facebook profile, she is a student at the University of Minnesota, Morris.
