Police searching for 12-year-old girl missing from White Bear Lake

White Bear Lake police are asking for the public's help finding a 12-year-old girl who ran away from home.

In a news release, the police department says Vanteiriya Britisha Harper left her White Bear Lake home one week ago, on June 12. They're concerned for her safety due to her young age.

Harper is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 145 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She's a student at Ramsey Middle School. Police say she may be with people in the St. Paul area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the White Bear Lake Police Department at 651-429-8511.

The nonprofit Polly Klass Foundation, citing numbers from the National Runaway Safeline, says 1.6 to 2.8 million children run away from home in the U.S. each year.
