Police searching for man at large in Moorhead stabbing

Moorhead police are investigating a stabbing that happened in the early morning hours Saturday and are seeking help from the public.

According to police, 26-year-old Zakariya Abdiwahab Abdikarim was involved in a physical confrontation with Michael Burciaga, 25. Burciaga had two puncture injuries to the chest and one to his arm by an unknown weapon, the Forum of Fargo-Moorhead reports.

The incident happened at 5:16 a.m. Saturday at a party, and Abdikarim fled the scene before police got there, WDAY-TV reports.

Burciaga was transported to Sanford Hospital for injuries which are believed to be non-life threatening.
