Police say a St. Cloud bank teller was an accomplice to a holdup pulled off by his drug supplier.
WCCO reports the criminal complaint against 23-year-old James Hagburg (pictured) claims he described security procedures at the Wells Fargo bank to Drew Coldiron of Minneapolis and agreed not to identify him to authorities in exchange for a supply of heroin.
Prosecutors noted that Coldiron was unarmed and made no specific threats in the note he passed to Hagburg before leaving the bank with $23,000, WCCO says.
KARE 11 reports police said that after they released surveillance footage of the robber they received tips from callers who recognized Coldiron, with some saying he had worked with – and used drugs with – Hagburg.
According to the report, Hagburg later admitted to investigators that Coldiron is his heroin supplier.
Both men are charged with aiding and abetting theft, with convictions bringing up to 10 years in prison and $20,000 in fines, WCCO says.
