Police urge drivers to slow down as roads are filled with crashes

Roads are very slick after overnight snow.

Police in the metro area are asking drivers to use caution and slow down early Saturday after a rash of spinouts and crashes have littered the roads.

We took this screen shot of Minnesota 511 at 9:45 a.m., and all of the pink symbols represent spinouts, stalls and crashes. We counted 85 of them at the time.

Check here for the latest Minnesota road conditions.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation had its snowplow crews out overnight, but are warning of continued difficult driving conditions throughout the weekend as wind gusts generate blowing snow on state roads.
