Police are looking for a man suspected of raping a homeless woman earlier this week in St. Paul.

St. Paul PD released the above image of the suspect captured on a surveillance camera, with the man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning.

The alleged attack happened near 4th and Commercial streets, with the victim suffering blows to the head, St. Paul PD told GoMN.

The Pioneer Press reports the woman had recently become homeless, and began talking to the man before agreeing to walk to a store together.

When she realized they were walking further away from the store, he punched her multiple times, before sexually assaulting her near the Lafayette Bridge and Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary, the newspaper notes.

The Star Tribune reports that police are still trying to figure out the full circumstances of the incident, because the woman, in her 30s, was still "groggy" from the assault.

Anyone with information should call police at 651-266-5685.
