Potbelly's is officially over the hill – the popular sandwich shop is turning 40.

And the company is celebrating with several promotions. On June 1, the Chicago-based sandwich chain is offering customers 40 percent off of sandwiches at all of its 400-plus stores, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Their original sandwiches are in the $5-6 range, so you'll pay a little over $3 for a sammie that day – not bad. The promotion is available only for in-store purchases; customers just need to mention the birthday offer at the register.

That's not all – Potbelly Sandwich Shop is enticing customers to use its new free app by giving away $40,000 worth of prizes in 40 days, including $400 cash each week, daily $40 gift cards, Pepsi product giveaways, and weekly concert experiences.

To take part in the contest, order with the Potbelly app between May 22 and June 30 to be entered to win one of these prizes.

"Since day one, Potbelly has always been about good food, good music and good neighborhood vibes," Aylwin Lewis, Chairman and CEO, Potbelly Sandwich Shop said in a news release.

"There’s no better way to turn 40 than by rewarding our loyal customers and inviting them to celebrate with us. It’s our birthday, but our customers get all the gifts."

They also have some limited-edition treats: marshmallow crispy bars, birthday shakes, and jars of hot peppers.

Potbelly has several locations in Minnesota – find one near you here.
