A pour-your-own-beer bar is coming to Eagan

There will be 32 beers on tap, including some brewed in-house.

A new brewpub where you'll be able to pour-your-own pint is coming to Eagan this summer.

Union 32 Craft House has been posting updates on its Facebook page, with the goal of opening near Highway 55 and Dodd Road in June. (It'll be right by the Vikings' new practice facility).

The establishment's name is a play on Minnesota being the 32nd state, as well as the 32 beers that'll be on tap, which you'll pour yourself from the brewery's beer wall, The Growler reports. The hope is that doing this will encourage people to try a bunch of different styles and flavors.

The Pioneer Press says Union 32 will have Minnesota-made beer and six beers brewed in house, as well as wine and spirits.

This pour-your-own-beer concept has been popular in other cities in recent years – and there was even a craft beer bar in Minneapolis where you had to pour your own beer, but the Community Keg House closed last summer after seven months in business.

If you don't want to pour your own brew, you can order from the bar, but the beer list is more limited, the Pioneer Press notes.

Union 32 will have a bar, dining room, and event space (which will include an ordering window that looks like a food truck), the Growler says.

You can keep track of Union 32's progress on its Facebook page, where it's posting updates and checking off everything it has left to do before opening in June.
