Powerball bounces back up to record jackpot, now $325M

With the holiday shopping season officially under way, there's a lot more than visions of sugar plums dancing in the heads of Powerball players. They're dreaming of fancy vacations, pricey new wardrobes and maybe a mansion or two ...

The jackpot for the popular lottery game played in 42 states, including Minnesota, has risen to $325 million, the fourth largest in the game's history, ABC reports.

Philly.com notes that two of the other records also happened this year – $337 million in August and $336 million in February.

The odds of winning are about 1 in 175 million.

Tickets are $2 each. The next drawing is at 10 p.m. Saturday.
