Prep Bowl: Totino-Grace captures state championship over Eden Prairie

The Totino-Grace Eagles were crowned state champions with their 28-20 win over the Eden Prairie Eagles on Friday night at the 2016 Class 6A State Championship game at U.S. Bank Stadium.

It was the third straight year the two schools met in the Prep Bowl.

After Eden Prairie jumped out to a 7-point lead late in the third quarter, Totino-Grace rallied for three scores in the final quarter to seal comeback win.

Grand Meadow, Caledonia and Benilde-St. Margaret also captured championships on Friday.

  • Caledonia 61 Eden Valley-Watkins 12
  • Benilde-St. Margaret's 31 Winona 28
  • Totino-Grace 28 Eden Prairie 21

Grand Meadow captured their fourth consecutive title while Caledonia also defended their championship. For Benilde-St. Margaret, it was the first state championship.

  • St. Croix Lutheran vs Rochester Lourdes 1 p.m.
  • Spring Lake Park vs Elk River 4 p.m.
