The latest 2012 budget proposal would cut spending by $50 million. It also would eliminate 127 jobs and close the Eden Prairie service center in order to to cope with less funding from the state.
Coleman's budget would raise St. Paul levy just under two percent
Mayor Chris Coleman proposed a St. Paul budget that reduces spending by $1 million. A 1.9 percent increase in the tax levy would help offset the loss of state funding. Coleman's budget would fill seven vacancies in the police department and would add a lawyer to the city attorney's office.
