The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office says they found Chelsea Batchelder's body in the woods east of Little Norway Drive Southeast in Bemidji Township at 9:20 a.m. Friday. Batchelder's body has been transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office to determine her cause of death.

She went missing on June 19 around 8 p.m., with investigators saying she was last seen walking north on Little Norway Avenue.

Anyone with information about Batchelder's death is asked to call the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office Investigative division at 218-333-9111.

Police are asking the public to search their yards, outbuildings and wooded lots for any clues to the whereabouts of a Bemidji woman who disappeared more than a week ago.

The search for 26-year-old Chelsea Batchelder has been going on since Friday. That's when her family reported her missing, saying they'd had no contact with her since June 19 at her home in the 1200 block of Little Norway Ave. SE, in Bemidji Township.

The latest update on Thursday from the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office says officers believe she disappeared after walking north on Little Norway Avenue at around 8 p.m. on June 19.

They have come to this conclusion after surveying surveillance footage, canvassing neighbors and conducting interviews in the area.

The Jacob Wetterling Resource Center is among the groups joining the appeal, sharing information on its Facebook page Thursday and adding: "Chelsea’s family loves and misses her very much."

She is described as having brown hair and eyes, 5'4"tall and weighing about 117 pounds.

She has a turtle tattoo on the top of her left foot and the name "Cecilia" on her left forearm. She was last seen wearing a dark, multi-colored, woven, hooded poncho, blue basketball-style shorts and black tennis shoes with pink laces.

If anyone has information regarding Batchelder’s whereabouts, they should contact the Bemidji Police Department at (218) 333-9111 or the Beltrami Sheriff's Office at 218-333-9111.
