A public memorial service will be held Sunday for the 20-year-old University of Minnesota student whose body was found in a roadside ditch near Lonsdale.

The gathering for Anarae Schunk will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center.

Schunk was seen on surveillance video on Sept. 21 going into Nina'a Grill in Burnsville with ex-boyfriend Anthony Lee Nelson.

Nelson is charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of 23-year-old Palagor Jobi. According to criminal charges, Nelson allegedly gunned down Jobi in the parking lot of the bar around closing time.

Nelson's current girlfriend, 24-year-old Ashley Conrade, told investigators that Schunk left the bar with her and Nelson. The three went to Conrade's townhouse in Rosemount.

It's unclear what happened to Schunk. After family members reported her missing the next day, law enforcement and volunteers launched a search effort.

Police found Schunk's bloodied jacket last Sunday, a day before her body was located.

Police believe Schunk was killed the same day she disappeared on Sept. 22, KSTP reports.

The case has been forwarded to the Dakota County Attorney's Office. Charges are not expected for several weeks, KSTP said.
