Puppies 'literally born' during Wisconsin tornado need homes

The pups and their moms will all be up for adoption.

A bunch of adorable puppies were welcomed into this world in a storm. Literally.

According to Rice Lake Animal Hospital in northwestern Wisconsin, two cute collie mixes – each with their own litter of pups – were displaced during last week's deadly Barron County tornado. And now they all need homes.

The momma dogs are called Ginger and MaryAnne – and there might be a Skipper and Gilligan somewhere in their litters.

The animal hospital says Ginger's about 8 years old, and her puppies are about four weeks. However, 4-year-old MaryAnne's litter is said to have been "literally born" right in the middle of the big storm.

A Humane Society worker says in the Facebook comments they believe Ginger is MaryAnne's mother. And according to veterinarian Brian Woods, the dogs' owner wants them to be re-homed due to things like property damage from the storm.

Both dogs and their puppies will be up for adoption as soon as the little ones are weaned.

If you're interested in adopting any of the animals, contact the Humane Society of Barron County.
