Plows work through night, but slick spots plague morning commute

The snow tapered off Tuesday morning, but many roads remained slick for the morning commute. Minnesota State Patrol responded to nearly 200 accidents Tuesday morning and over 700 on Monday, two of which were fatal. Officials says there were also three accidents involving state troopers during the winter storm, one of which was captured on video showing two squad cars getting hit by a semi-truck on Interstate-94 in Rogers. No one was seriously injured in that crash.

Veterans Day freebies, deals and events

Remember that many banks and the post office are closed in connection with the annual holiday, and parking meters in many cities are free today.

Peterson grievance hearing must happen by Nov. 17

Yesterday, the NFL Players Association filed a grievance seeking the reinstatement of Adrian Peterson, who remains on the commissioner’s exempt list. Today, Pro Football Talk reports that the NFL is obligated to provide Peterson a grievance hearing by Monday at the latest, and a decision to reinstate him or suspend him for violating the league’s personal conduct policy must be made by Nov. 22.
