Grandmother of murdered 4-year-old calls on GOP to remove Dayton attack ad

The grandmother of boy who died from parental abuse wants a political ad featuring the child to be taken off the air. Yvonne Dean called on the state’s Republican Party to stop airing an ad that blames Gov. Mark Dayton for the death of 4-year-old Eric Dean. She calls the ad unfair and said "to use our family's tragedy is crossing the line." An investigation into the boy’s death at the hands of his stepmother prompted a review of Minnesota’s child abuse system.

Teens shot at, assaulted by mob in South St. Paul

Two teens were attacked and shot at by a South St. Paul mob over the weekend. The victims told police they were walking near strip mall on Sunday evening when a group of at least a dozen attacked them. One of the victims said the two were punched, kicked, physically hit with a firearm, and robbed before they ran to safety. Two teens ages 14 and 15 have been arrested and police are looking for additional suspects.

Grab a fork: Record number of Twin Cities restaurants opened this year

Hopefully you’re hungry – the Twin Cities has a bevy of new restaurants to try. Reports say there has been an unprecedented boom in metro-area restaurants this year totaling 91 new openings, with 42 more in the works. Most are independently owned, not chains. At the same time, about two dozen restaurants have closed, but most have been replaced by new eateries.
