Minnesota’s August jobless rate drops to 4.3 percent

Minnesota’s unemployment rate for August inched down again and is now 4.3 percent. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development released the figures today, noting it's the state’s lowest jobless rate in almost eight years. Minnesota added some 6,100 jobs last month.

Update: 2 arrested in State Fair craft beer booth armed robbery

Two people were arrested in connection with last month's armed robbery at the Minnesota State Fair. A 20-year-old and 35-year-old, both of St. Paul, were taken into custody. Reports in the days following the robbery said at least two individuals stole about $10,000 from the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild’s Land of 10,000 Beers exhibit after close on Aug. 29.

P-Awww: Orphaned wolf pups debut at Minnesota Zoo

Five wolf pups orphaned by an Alaskan wildfire met the public at the Minnesota Zoo this morning. The pups are named after the hometowns of the firefighters who found them alone in their den. When no parents showed up after a few days, the 8-week-old youngsters were treated for injuries inflicted by porcupines, then transferred south to the zoo in Apple Valley.
