Defense attorney: Man accused of killing officer plans not guilty plea

The defense team for the man accused of killing a Mendota Heights police officer says he plans to plead not guilty. Brian Fitch Sr., 39, was in court Thursday. He's accused of fatally shooting Officer Scott Patrick during a traffic stop July 30. His next court appearance is in October.

Some details revealed about new Holidazzle Village, Christmas Market

It’s beginning to look a lot like ... Holidazzle season. This year, holiday revelers coming to downtown Minneapolis will be able to visit the Holidazzle Village and the Minneapolis Christmas Market along Nicollet Mall. The event will include live reindeer, sales booths and wandering Holidazzle characters. Last year was the final year for the Holidazzle parade.

Mixed up: Minnesota woman a finalist in international cocktail competition

A Minnesota woman is among five finalists in an international cocktail-making competition hosted by British TV chef Jamie Oliver. Stephany Wieland's peachy piña colada was named a finalist in the competition yesterday. The public now gets to vote on a winner, who will be announced in October.
