Fire destroys 2 of 4 restaurants in tiny Dorset

A fast-moving blaze claimed half the restaurants in Dorset, a population-25 town in north-central Minnesota that good-naturedly dubs itself the “restaurant capital of the world.” The Dorset House and the adjacent Compañeros restaurant both caught fire early this morning as thunderstorms moved through the area. The cause of the blaze has not yet been determined.

City attorney: Lollie incident happened in public area of St. Paul skyway

The St. Paul man who posted a cell phone video after a confrontation with St. Paul police was legally seated in the skyway, a prosecutor says. The St. Paul city attorney said Chris Lollie was seated in a public area of the skyway when police approached him. A security guard who called police said it was a private area. Lollie has said he was harassed because he is black. Charges against him have been dropped, but Lolllie says he plans to file a civil rights complaint.

Brock Lesnar sells home outside Minneapolis for $750K

Minnesota-based WWE champ Brock Lesnar pinned down a buyer for his Minnesota home. Lesnar sold his place in Maple Plain for $750,000 – but he sold at a loss. Property records show he paid about $33,000 more than that when he bought the 43-acre spread in 2003. Now 37, Lesnar, who is originally from North Dakota, attended the U of M on a wrestling scholarship.
