Anoka County prosecutors have charged a 44-year-old Ramsey man with three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. The Star Tribune reports Chad M. Geyen was arrested Monday.
Investigators interviewed four victims, and said there were hundreds of instances of abuse "spanning many years," including this past year. Two of the victims are brothers, now ages 8 and 11, and two are 25 and 26-year-old cousins.
Geyen, a married father of two, met the boys while volunteering with the Experimental Aircraft Association's Young Eagle program, according to the Pioneer Press. Geyen spoke at schools about his passion for flying, and took kids on introductory flights in his Cessna 177 Cardinal.
The 11-year-old told authorities he was raped repeatedly at Geyen's home and cabin, and at the Anoka County-Blaine Airport.
The 8-year-old brother said he watched pornography with Geyen, and was abused while they were swimming.
One of the cousins said he met Geyen through the "Big Brothers" program when he was 5. Geyen became his foster father. He was ring-bearer at Geyen's wedding. He told authorities Geyen abused him at least 100 times.
The older cousin said Geyen began abusing him when he was 8. The abuse continued for five years, occurring at Geyen's home and cabin.
County Attorney Tony Palumbo told the Star Tribune that investigators will likely find more victims. Anyone with information is asked to call the Anoka County sheriff's office at 763-427-1212
Bail was set at $1.5 million or $500,000 if Geyen has no contact with minors and forfeits his passport and pilot's license.
