It's crunch time for Fargonians who have less than a week until the Red River is expected to peak.
The Fargo Forum reports the river will rise to at least 38 feet on Wednesday or Thursday, and is expected to drop later in the day Thursday.
The National Weather Service predicts the river will crest somewhere between 38 and 40 feet.
About 1,500 high school students are scrambling to lay 100,000 sand bags Friday to protect homes. The Associated Press reports students placed 700,000 sandbags is less than two days during the 2011 flood.
Large levee construction around the city should be completed by Monday.
