Red Wing pastor resigns after prostitution citation

First Presbyterian Church of Red Wing Pastor Gary Elg resigned after he told church officials that he had been charged with soliciting a prostitute in St. Paul. “I have failed you as a pastor and a friend,” Elg said in a letter sent to church members. “I have crossed some serious ethical and moral boundaries.” He was with the church 23 years.
