A yellow lab who was found with six gunshot wounds, lying under a tree on a February day, has died.
Remington, rescued after being discovered about a mile north of Avon with what appeared to be pellet gun wounds to his face and hind quarters, died Monday after suddenly developing serious health problems, according to the Tri-County Humane Society.
They'd been caring for the animal since he was found, and issued two updates Monday.
The first explained how Remy abruptly began having health issues, starting with seizures late last week that prompted them to sedate the animal. Remy was then taken to the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Clinic.
Just a short time later, they posted an update.
"It is with a heavy heart that we share with you our latest update on Remy. We just received a call from the University of MN that sadly Remy has died," the post begins.
The exact cause of death isn't known, an autopsy will be done to help determine that.
"This is a sad day at the shelter. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers," the Tri-County Humane Society wrote.
