Fox News personality Sean Hannity and Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., took some nasty swipes at each other during a six-minute interview on Tuesday night (video below). One blogger at The Atlantic called it "an instant classic" among the epic battles that have been waged on the network.

Both men hurled a few insults. Barely 30 seconds into the interview, Ellison called Hannity "the worst excuse for a journalist I've ever seen." He also called Hannity "deceptive," "immoral," "shameless" and "a shill for the Republican Party." The two argued over whether Hannity was a Republican (Hannity said he was a "registered conservative.")

"I've given you plenty of time to rant," the commentator said. "Why are you so angry? You are so angry."

Hannity finally told Ellison, “Congressman, you’re a total waste of time, I'm moving on.”

Ellison has been in verbal tussles before. He traded barbs during his campaign with GOP opponent Chris Fields, in which the congressman called Fields a "scumbag."
