After Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was injured, there was some speculation that the Vikings were going to sign free agent Michael Vick.

Instead, Minnesota ended up trading two draft picks to the Philadelphia Eagles for Sam Bradford and the rest is now history.

Vick remained unsigned throughout the 2016 season and the former highlight-reel quarterback offically announced his retirement from the NFL on Friday.

But according to Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press, Vick really wanted to play for the Vikings.

“Me and the guys (his friends) were sitting on the couch, and I thought I was going to get a call, man,” Vick told the Pioneer Press on Friday. “But they didn’t call. That was probably the reason I chose to go into retirement, because I could have helped that football team.”

Vick went on to say the "Vikings dropped the ball" on passing on him. He thought the combination of his skill set and Adrian Peterson's would have made for a dynamic duo.

A few years ago, Peterson advocated for the Vikings to sign Vick before they ended up drafting Bridgewater in the first round of that year's NFL Draft.

The recently retired quarterback was no stranger to the big play – just ask any Vikings fan. Vick's 2002 touchdown run in overtime at the Metrodome is one of the craziest plays you'll ever see.
