Reports: Sam Bradford to start for the Vikings on Sunday

Publish date:

According to Ben Goessling of ESPN, the Minnesota Vikings will start Sam Bradford at quarterback this Sunday night against the Green Bay Packers.

Which isn't too big of a surprise considering Bradford took snaps with the first-team offense throughout practice this week.

Last week, 36-year-old veteran quarterback Shaun Hill started for Minnesota.

Pro Football Talk reported that Bradford wasn't able to start Week 1 because of his limited knowledge of the offense. Now with another week under his belt, Bradford is familiar enough with Minnesota's offense to be the starting quarterback

After Teddy Bridgewater was injured last month, the Vikings acquired Bradford from the Eagles on Sept. 3 for two draft picks.

The former No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft put together a solid season with Philadelphia in 2015 – he set career-highs for completion percentage, passer yards and passer rating.

The Vikings host the Packers this Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. in the first regular-season game at U.S. Bank Stadium.
