Reports: San Diego is about to lose their NFL team
It looks like Los Angeles will have two NFL teams once again.
According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, the San Diego Chargers are set to announce a move to Los Angeles as early as Thursday.
Pro Football Talk notes the NFL had given the Chargers an extension through the weekend on their option to join the Rams in L.A.
According to ESPN, the Chargers have already informed commissioner Roger Goodell and owners of their intention to move the team for the 2017 season.
The Chargers are now in their 16th year of seeking a new stadium in San Diego and there's no end in sight.
A ballot initiative for a new stadium in San Diego failed in November. They had played in San Diego for 55 seasons after spending their inaugural season in Los Angeles in 1960.
