Reports: Twins agree to deal with reliever Matt Belisle

Twins find some veteran help for the bullpen.

The Minnesota Twins have added a little veteran help to their bullpen.

A Major League source tells Twins blogger Rhett Bollinger the Twins have agreed on a one-year deal with right-hander Matt Belisle.

Belisle is a 13-year veteran. Last season he made 40 appearances for the Washington Nationals posting a 1.76 ERA in 46 innings. He also struck out 32 and walked just seven.

He will add a little experience to a bullpen to go with Glen Perkins and Brandon Kintzler. Over his career he has a 4.20 ERA with 632 strikeouts in 834 innings with the Reds, Rockies, Cardinals and Nationals.

Twins GM Thad Levine said at TwinsFest that he expected the Twins to add at least one veteran pitcher before pitchers and catchers report on Feb. 14.
