Rescue team expands search for 74-year-old Duluth woman

Authorities in St. Louis County have expanded their search efforts for a Duluth woman nearly a week after she went missing.

Northland News reports that on Friday the St. Louis County Search and Rescue team brought in a mobile command and canine unit to help locate 74-year old Dale Gerard, who went missing from her Wesley Residence home last Saturday.

Gerard disappeared from her assisted living facility on Saturday, Northland News earlier reported, in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. Gerard suffers from dementia and needs daily medication, according to the paper.

Gerard has been missing since July 20, when she boarded an eastbound Duluth Transit Authority bus at 3:15 p.m, according to the Duluth News Tribune. She is described as a vulnerable adult.

Northland News, which talked to Gerard's family, says she is 5"5' tall and weighs 155 pounds. She has brown eyes and red, auburn hair. Authorities say she has red marks on her chin, nose and cheeks.

Gerard was last seen wearing dark colored pants, a flowered blouse with a pink and rose colored sweater.
