Two skydivers had to be rescued after they landed off the shore of Lake Superior Saturday, having jumped the gun between Duluth and Superior by leaving the plane early.

At 4:20 p.m., authorities responded to the 4500 block of Minnesota Avenue, near the Park Point Beach House, on the report of two skydivers that had landed approximately 3/8 of a mile off shore in Lake Superior, WCCO-TV reports.

One had landed approximately 200 yards from shore and was brought to shore by someone in a flotation device. The other landed farther out, the station says, and was shuttled to shore by a float plane.

No big deal in Duluth. The News Tribune reports that the two were with a group from Skydive Superior who were participating in the Lark O’ The Lake Festival.

“We were concerned for about four minutes,” one of the group tells the Duluth paper.

The 29-year-old man and 33-year-old woman, the NewsTrib reports, were thinking they might as well jump again on Saturday.
