Revisiting Brother Ali's 'Mr. President (You're the Man)' one last time

Brother Ali released a special song the morning after Obama's inauguration, let's revisit it while it's still accurate.

The inauguration of President Donald J. Trump will have many implications. Notably, a lot of rap songs recorded over the past nine years are going to become instantly dated.

While there has been much hubbub over playing Young Jeezy's "My President is Black" one last time, we'd like to recognize another gem from the Obama era, Brother Ali's "Mr. President (You're the Man)."

Released the morning after Obama won the 2008 election, "Mr. President" captured all the hope and optimism that the post-Bush Era promised us -- feelings of hope, flashes of history, and a downright inspiring groove. If future generations ever wonder what that historic Obama party felt like, this track is it.

No word yet if Ali will update the track for 2017. We'd imagine he won't be making a surprise appearance at the inauguration either.
