Ricky Rubio's status for Tuesday night's Timberwolves home opener appears to be in jeopardy.

Rubio sprained his elbow Saturday night in the fourth quarter of Minnesota's loss to the Sacramento Kings.

Minnesota is slated to host Memphis Tuesday night, but Rubio didn't practice on Monday. Wolves coach Tom Thibodeau said the point guard is scheduled to meet with doctors.

Injuries are nothing new for Rubio. He's missed more than 120 games in his six-year career because of them.

A torn ACL and lateral collateral ligament in his knee brought a premature end to his rookie season in 2012 and caused him to miss the start of the next year.

In 2014-15, Rubio was limited to just 22 games because of a severely sprained ankle in November that later required surgery.

The Wolves are off to an 0-2 start after blowing leads of 17 and 18 points in their first two games.
